Black Lives Matter STILL

Your willingness to turn a blind eye to the injustices against black and brown people in this country DOES NOT negate my right to protest

Your “all lives matter” or “blue lives matter” stance cannot hinder the fact that my soul screams “black lives matter” every single fucking day

Your willingness to accept “he or she didn’t comply” as a prelude to murder does not silence the fact that “I can’t breathe”

Your “I can’t be racist; I have black friends” bullshit will never speak louder than your silence

Your belief that kneeling in protest is disrespectful to the flag will never silence the fact that racism and oppression are disrespectful

Your belief that silently protesting is “politics” but white supremacists rallies are “freedom of speech” will never stop being alarming

Your vote and continued support for someone who has ALWAYS shown himself to be a racist, homophobic, misogynist, hypocritical, disrespectful, pussy grabbing, condescending  asshole as “the lesser of two evils” is beyond telling of your character and moral compass

Your belief that we should “respect” anyone or anything that refuses to accept the fact that injustice against anyone should not be tolerated is asinine

Your willingness to value an animal’s life and be outright angry for animal suffering but be silent about the victims of police brutality is hypocritical and disturbing to say the least

I will not conform

I will not be silent

I will not stop protesting

I will not allow you to dictate how or what I should feel

I will speak out against you or any other “son of a bitch” that tries to invalidate the fact that my black skin feels like a target

This protest is not about that idiot that you elected as President nor is it about your white privilege, self hate or coon dance for the people

You cannot possibly understand what it feels like to live in constant fear that your husband, brothers, sons or nephews may not come home because they got pulled over or they were walking in the wrong neighborhood or they were driving while black or they simply should go back where they came from

This protest is and always has been about the fact that this country continues to oppress, devalue, brutalize and dehumanize black and brown people and refuses to acknowledge any of it

So again, I say fuck you and your anthem.
