Finer Womanhood

In honor of @J16 I decided to go back and reflect on my first year as a Zeta.

When I tell y’all it was NOT what I thought it would be 😒 I truly expected to sit back and learn. I crossed on February 7, 2021 during the pandemic into a small chapter and it was hell. I had a great welcome but definitely not one that included my family and friends.

Chile, I was immediately put to work AND made chair of some initiatives AND put on the executive board. I don’t even know why I was surprised because no matter what organization I join, they immediately put me to work 🤦🏾‍♀️

My firsr year at Pathways to Prosperity, Inc. I was in charge of planning a 5K for a route that didn’t exist. The first year at National Coalition of 100 Black Women West Palm Beach Chapter I was tasked with creating gifts for 30+ people in the outgoing administration. My first year as a Habitat South Palm Beach County Ambassador I had to help plan the holiday party.

People ask because they KNOW I am going to show up.

I cannot even tell you how many Zeta webinars, Zoom meetings, trainings, joint events with other organizations, Southeastern Region monthly informationals or Membership Mondays I attended but baby it was damn near all of them. I say that to say this, no matter what you do in life, you get out of it what you put into it.

My first year has been challenging with some bumps along the way but baby I am Omicron Delta Zeta made and so ready to take it to the next level. J16 is almost here y’all oh and my ZETAVERSARY (F7- yep check everythang just like that spellcheck key lol) comin. 💙🤍🕊 #ZPhi #ZPhiB
