Listen, Mahogany got on every single goddamn nerve I had ok?
So, Mahogany (Sienna’s sister from Soul Ties) received an invitation to Pandora’s from her client who was the owner. She was a successful business owner, married with four kids at the time and had no intention of going. Unfortunately, her husband was a cheater, and she was miserable in her marriage, so she didn’t throw it away.
All it took was for him to butt dial her while he was with another woman to change her mind. She walked around Pandora’s simply watching and almost got herself sucked into a threesome until a stranger at the bar pretended to be her man and scared them away. The way the stranger made her feel when he touched and held her scared TF out of her. So much so that she ran to the bathroom to get away from him, only to regret it when he was gone by the time she came back. No one knew who he was.
Mahogany said she wasn’t going back to Pandora’s after that night but she fantasized about that stranger repeatedly ever since, even when she was with her husband. She even talked to her therapist about him. Each and every time she went back to Pandora’s she did any and everything with multiple men to try and relieve the hurt from her broken marriage and her longing for the stranger.
Her husband Duke was trying his best to win back her heart. For two years he had been on the up and up, showering her with affection and gifts to let her know he was a changed man. As much as she wanted to hate him, she had been with him since they were teenagers and couldn’t resist his touch. They decided to go to therapy together to work on their marriage and things were getting better. Until Duke found out he had an oops baby from when he cheated two years prior.
Boy what?! Ho’ish AND not using protection? Ugh. From that point on I was no longer on Duke’s side.
Mahogany’s new client showed up in her office and to her surprise, Mr. Crescent Carter was the stranger from Pandora’s that she had been fantasizing about for five years. While he didn’t recognize her from five years prior, the attraction between the two was obvious. Another shocker was that one of her Pandora conquests, Judah, worked for Crescent. Awkward.
Crescent was RELENTLESS and I loved that about him lol. He knew Mahogany was married but clearly picked up on her unhappiness and did not give AF. He told her he wanted to work with her exclusively on one of his projects and flirted with her every damn chance he got. He also intentionally refused to look over documents she sent prior to meetings so she would have to spend more time with him when they met.
Mahogany was SHOOK. Chile, that thing could barely think straight or focus. She fought it off as long as she could but then she got caught up. He tore that thang UP in her damn office! She told him it could never happen again but umm, she knew that was a lie. She tried to transfer him to another designer at her firm and he wasn’t having it.
But when a surprise visitor showed up at Mahogany’s house? She saw RED.
She ended up at Crescent’s condo and from that day forward they were at it every chance they got. At that point she no longer gave AF and wanted to end her 18 year marriage. She put Duke out the house, had her sister Sienna serve him with divorce papers and all. Why did they decide to have a late night at the office again and Duke caught them?! Baby listen. I feared for everybody’s life.
This damn series took me TF through it, you hear me?! Mahogany frustrated me the most because her therapist had BEEN telling her to divorce Duke but she insisted on holding on to this we’ve been together 18 years and have 4 kids thing. Girl, that man cheated most of your marriage. WTF. I’m glad she got her lick back MULTIPLE times though.
I loved this series, especially the ending. This one is a must read. The only thing I wish happened was Crescent connecting the dots to that moment in time when they first met at Pandora’s.
TW: infidelity, marital dysfunction
Rating: Mahogany tried my patience, but Crescent definitely healed her soul. 🖤
