Ok on to book 2 in Truce and Sanai’s love story. So Truce is feelin like somethin’s not right then gets visited in his shoe store by a mysterious woman. She knew too much about him and did too much. They fail to understand that Truce doesn’t take kindly to threats so they’re about to see the not so corporate side of him.
Anyway, he and Sanai are moving along in their relationship, but she still has barriers. She has major trust issues and it’s understandable due to her life circumstances. He’s so good at loving on her and getting her to open up to him. That man constantly let’s her know she’s the shit and she needs that. Sanai and Truce spoil and speak life into each other and I love it. Them taking the next step and finding therapy that works for them was also great to see.
These two finally realizing and accepting that what they feel for one another is love and getting to the point where they say it out loud was beautiful to witness. They both had these internal battles going that wouldn’t allow them to go there because “we haven’t known each other long enough” or “I don’t know how to love”. The way he asked her to be his Valentine was super sweet. His conscious efforts to give her peace and reassure her that he is who he says he is makes me swoon. And baby their sex scenes are top tier. These are some freaky nasty lovers and I’m here for it. The scene in the damn club? The photo shoot scene. Chile… HOTT.
I was not prepared for the drama that came with Sanai’s birth mom tho. Nor her connection to Jaxon, his brother Mason and the daddy….but they all got exactly what they deserved. Jaxson raggity behind thought the grass was greener and was thoroughly disappointed. That jealousy he had for Truce giving Sanai soft life princess treatment was pure comedy. His bougee ass couldn’t stand the fact that a “hood” n*gga took his woman. And that ass whippin Sanai put on Yara? Much deserved!
Just know Truce don’t play about Sanai and I love that for her. This was another great read. Loving their happily ever after!
TW: parental abandonment, stalking, violence
Rating: Truce Wright is definitely an obsession so Sanai, I fully understand.
